What The Heck Is A Fuji Ultrasonic Flowmeter?

In order to answer this question, we first need to know what a flowmeter is and then find out what makes a Fuji ultrasonic flowmeter to stand out from other flowmeters (even though, technically, they have legs with which to stand on). A flowmeter (or "flow meter") is a little tool that looks a lot like a mutated pocket calculator. It measures the rate of viscosity (movement or flow) of liquids or gases. For some reason, scientists and engineers need to know how fast these things move, but that's beyond the scope of this particular article.

Blind As A Bat

In one way, a Fuji ultrasonic flowmeter is a like a bat. They both use sound in order to get an accurate picture of the world around them. Bats use sonar, or a series of clicks pitched so high that mere human ears can't hear them. The sound bounces off of the object and goes back to the bat's brain, letting the bat know not to bump into things when flying in pitch darkness.

All of this is processed in a bat's head a lot faster than in a Fuji ultrasonic flowmeter. This little tool also uses a series of sounds, known technically as "acoustic signals." In non-technical jargon, they are known as "beeps". The way the beeps are used is very much like a bat's head using sound. The Fuji ultrasonic flowmeter sends ultrasonic pulses (beeps) to and opposite a liquid's flow direction. Then, it measures how long it takes for that pulse to travel. That's called "transit time".

Advantages

If you find yourself in the hellish situation of needing some sort of flowmeter, you could do worse than choose either a GE Panametrics ultrasonic flowmeter or a Fuji ultrasonic flowmeter. Both of them are small, have user-friendly buttons (always important to guys, especially) and are water proof. Be sure your flow meter is water proof. (Hey, some people need practical advice).

The Fuji ultrasonic flowmeter has a couple more advantages for the technically inclined. There is an extreme lack of having to wait for all of the data to download in order for the flowmeter to work. It's also so water tight that there is no risk of your questionable liquid seeping in to your Fuji ultrasonic flowmeter and destroying it.

You can easily program your flashy Fuji ultrasonic flowmeter through the front keyboard (remember those user-friendly buttons?) Here, you can enter whatever personalized data that you need to add.
