If your pipes are larger than normal or the gas you are measuring is specific, you should be able to find the right gauge for the job. You can even password protect the package for increased security when utilizing the product in the field. How Does a Thermal Mass Flowmeter Work? Every molecule absorbs a certain amount of heat. By providing a heat source in your thermal mass flowmeter and then passing your flow stream through the heat source you can measure the amount of heat that has been dissipated from the heat source. If you increase the flow into the meter the heat will dissipate quicker and therefore you can calculate that the mass is larger.
